Students cannot learn if they are sick, experiencing trauma, or in pain. But for far too many children throughout Los Angeles, access to medical care — physical, mental, and dental — is hard to come by. The Los Angeles Trust for Children’s Health has made it our mission to change that. We strive to improve student health, and relatedly, their educational success by providing integrated healthcare services on the school campuses of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

A unique strength of the 15 school-based “Wellness Centers” is that it provides healthcare to students and their families. Studies report that when a child’s parent, guardian or relative is ill, it affects the whole family, and impacts the student’s performance in school. Taking this to heart, The L.A. Trust also promotes preventive healthcare, early intervention programs and campaigns at the Wellness Centers.

What’s more, the Wellness Centers offer healthcare services to members of the community surrounding the 15 school campuses. These neighborhoods were identified as the areas with the greatest health disparities and the least resources. The trusted community healthcare providers at these beautiful, new, state of the art clinics have treated more than 320,000 visitors to date.

The Wellness Centers hold the promise to greatly improve the health of communities, lifting entire areas of Los Angeles, precisely because their doors are open to the communities near the schools. Please help us support this good and important work.

  • $500 will support two, students-led Wellness Campaigns per campus
  • $100 a month will provide two, on-campus Wellness Champions stipends
  • $50 a month will supply 133 refillable water bottles for students to best utilize new LAUSD water-filling stations
  • $5 a month will provide a toothbrush and an educational coloring book for five students

The L.A. Trust relies on fundraising and grants for 100% of the operating budget and to support our healthcare programs for LAUSD’s 590,000 students. Your tax-deductible donation will make a direct impact and is greatly appreciated. Make a one-time or monthly pledge today and invest in children’s health.

Sharing Brings Hope

LAUSD Consolidated Charitable Campaign

Your contribution through payroll deduction allows The L.A. Trust to plan for healthcare initiatives, and to boost the much-needed discretionary and emergency funds for health programs at LAUSD. The “Sharing Brings Hope” campaign is directly applied to vital initiatives that impact the students, parents, teachers, staff, and schools. We are counting on your generous help through the Combined Charitable Campaign.

Each Spring for more than a decade, the Sharing Brings Hope Consolidated Charitable Campaign has kicked off fundraising at your schools and offices. And each year, the LAUSD’s staff, teachers, students, and their families have been faithful in donating time, energy, and money to the Sharing Brings Hope Campaign. We continue to look for your support as you give to organizations like ours that care about our schools, communities, and the people who live in them.

The Sharing Brings Hope Campaign brings together the most respected, prominent, and effective charitable agencies and federations in the Greater Los Angeles. They fund more than 400 local charities that offer programs in education, healthcare, social services and environmental advocacy. Four of the participating agencies were founded by the LAUSD staff.
